Asbestos Surveys and Re-inspections
Those responsible for the management of asbestos in buildings including building owners, managing agents and employers need to be clear on the type of asbestos survey required, where and when the survey is needed, and the information required.
A refurbishment and demolition survey is required before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out to locate and describe any asbestos containing materials in the area where the refurbishment will take place, or the whole building if demolition is planned.
A large number of homes built before the year 2000 still contain asbestos. This may be hidden away and can easily be disturbed when carrying out minor building works.
Watch our asbestos video to find out how you can improve accessibility to your most up to date asbestos registers for visiting contractors and key on-site personnel, helping you reduce the likelihood of accidental exposure and giving you confidence that you are better managing the UK's number one source of deaths in the workplace.
